Mark Hardy is a Chicago-based composer and multi-instrumentalist whose music has been performed internationally and commissioned by major brands like Nike and MTV.
Drawing on his diverse experience in composition, performance, and world music, he teaches piano, guitar, bass, sitar, theory, and composition to students of all ages, helping them build confidence, strong technique, and lifelong musicianship. Mark teaches at the Avondale location.
Teaching Style
“My music teaching establishes a solid playing technique with an ability to read and understand musical notation. I encourage my students to make individual connections with the language of music through their practice, and gain an appreciation for diverse musical literature by learning, playing and performing. I also strive to foster a lifelong discourse and curiosity in music and all the arts in my students so they can celebrate the interconnections of all cultures.”
